I Still Believe in The Weaver Curriculum

And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

(Luke 2:52)

The Weaver Curriculum was the backbone of our 24 years of homeschooling. I liked to say it was the best kept secret in the Christian homeschool community, because there were so many people who had never heard of it. So, I promoted it as often as I could.

I still do.

Weaver will work for anyone who chooses to put God at the core of their studies, regardless of the number of children they are teaching. This has been proven time and again by families around the world who were part of the original email list, and now by those in the Facebook group. Then there were the families who often referred to the Unofficial Weaver Pages. They all knew that Weaver worked, even though it didn’t work the same for each of them.

Just as there are many different types of teaching and learning styles, there are many types of families. Unlike some of the other weaving moms, I was not leading Bible studies at my church. I was a brand-new Christian when I first started using The Weaver Curriculum, but I knew one thing: The more I read my Bible and learned about God, the more He would guide me (Philippians 2:13 and Psalm 37:4-5).

That was my reasoning for starting with Weaver.

That was my reasoning for sticking with Weaver.

And that is my reasoning for continuing to promote it, even after my own homeschooling journey has ended.

Weaver works. A day of using it may look different for each family, but the end results remain the same: God is glorified as our children grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
